- NC DCDEE Child Care Statistical Report - "The Statistical Detail Report is a 1000+ page monthly statement providing child care licensing data for each of the more than 9000 individual child care centers and family child care homes across NC. Child care programs are listed in this report by county, with family child care homes listed first in license number order, followed by child care centers. Summary information is given at the end of each county group..."
- NC DCDEE Subsidy Expenditure Report - Expenditures by county, including combined, Smart Start only, & non-Smart Start, plus Children Served/Waiting List by County.
- NC OSBM Log Into North Carolina (LINC) is "an interactive data retrieval service containing historical information for over 900 data items and a variety of geographic areas within the state. Topics include population, labor force, education, transportation, revenue, agriculture, vital statistics, energy and utilities, and other topics for a variety of geographic areas within the state." County level data for multiple years available!
- NC OSBM shortcut to county population estimates
- NC Justice Center: Budget & Tax Center's County Economic Snapshots "(released May 2018) provide a look at how well counties in North Carolina are faring across key indicators of economic well-being and opportunity—unemployment, poverty, wages and income, housing, health, education, and available supports. Indicators were selected based on several factors including availability, reliability, and consistency as well as what they can tell us about the conditions in the state's 100 counties."
- Eat Smart, Move More NC: Child And Youth Data includes links to the following:
- Child Health Assessment and Monitoring Program (CHAMP) coordinated by the NC State Center for Health Statistics and measures the health characteristics of children and youth (ages 0-17) in North Carolina, including body weight, nutrition, and physical activity.
- Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) a school-based survey that monitors priority health-risk behaviors and the prevalence of obesity and asthma among middle and high school students.
- National YRBSS - coordinated by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- North Carolina YRBSS - coordinated by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
- North Carolina Pediatric Nutrition and Epidemiology Surveillance System (NC-PedNESS) The children ages 2 through 4 included in the NC-PedNESS data are are reflective of the population at 185% of the federal poverty level from the WIC Program and Child Health Clinics. The NC-PedNESS Data also contains data on children 5 years and older from Child Health Clinics and some School based Health Centers whose BMI-Status for Age are also provided in separate tables.
- The National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH) a telephone survey led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under the direction and sponsorship of the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau. It provides data on children's lives including physical and mental health, access to quality health care, and the child's family, neighborhood, school, and social context.
